What is NVQ Level 7?
The National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) framework ensures that your skills are recognized. **NVQ Level 7** is the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree.
It is designed for students who come through the technical stream (NAITA, VTA, Cot) rather than the A/L stream. It opens doors to executive jobs and postgraduate studies (Masters).

No A/Ls? No Problem
The biggest advantage of the NVQ system is that you don't need 3 passes in A/Ls. Your NVQ Level 5 or 6 qualification is sufficient entry criteria for the Degree.
Government Recognition
NVQ Level 7 is legally recognized as a Degree by the Government of Sri Lanka. You can apply for government executive jobs, teaching appointments, and promotions.
Pathway to Masters
Once you complete your NVQ Level 7, you are eligible to enroll in Master's degree programs (MSc, MBA) at local or international universities.

The University of Vocational Technology (UNIVOTEC) is in Ratmalana, but courses are delivered through various university colleges and centers.
Can I do it part-time?
Yes, most NVQ Level 7 programs are conducted on weekends to accommodate working professionals.
What is the duration?
If you have NVQ Level 5, it typically takes 3 years. If you have Higher Diploma, it takes 1 year (Top-Up).
