What is a Pharmacist Degree?

A pharmacist degree in Sri Lanka is a four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) honours qualification. It is the academic foundation that allows you to dispense medicines, advise patients and work legally as a registered pharmacist anywhere on the island.

State degrees are offered by the University of Colombo, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Eastern University, while private and franchised routes give A/L Science students an additional intake each year. After graduating you must register with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) and the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) before you can practise.
